Morzine is a picturesque Alpine town, lying in the heart of the vast Portes du Soleil ski area near the French/Swiss border and only an hour's drive from Geneva airport. The town itself offers a mixture of traditional and modern shops, bars and restaurants, whilst maintaining it's genuine Savoyarde atmosphere.
The old town with its weekly market, town square and beautiful buildings situated by the river Dranse, has a charm to be found in few other ski resorts.
Après Ski
Morzine has a variety of evening venues from quiet bars and restaurants to night clubs open until daybreak. There is an indoor ice skating rink with national league ice hockey matches, ten pin bowling, games bar and two cinemas.
We can arrange torchlight descents and night time snow scooter rides. Alternatively, in the chalet there is a full bar, a mezzanine library with pool table or the playroom has wide screen DVD's, videos and playstation 2, pool table and table tennis.
Portes du Soleil
This famous ski area covers 13 ski resorts in France and Switzerland (including Avoriaz, Chatel, and Champery) and offers 650km of pistes, linked by 228 ski lifts. The extensive and varied landscape caters for all levels of skier with beautiful pisted and off-piste runs, both through the trees and well above the tree line.
The nursery slopes and green runs are nearby for beginners. Intermediate skiers can ski from resort to resort without skiing the same run twice. For the advanced, there are numerous red and black runs, extensive off-piste, the World Cup downhill run, and for the boldest there is the famous near -vertical "Wall."
Surfers will find snowboard parks with jumps, obstacles and half pipes and there are 76km of wonderful cross country skiing. 60 snow cannons ensure that the runs to the resort are open until the end of the season.
Ski school can be arranged in Morzine or Avoriaz with either the French or British ski school for group or private lessons.
We organize private lessons for up to 5 children from all families staying in the chalet. This ensures children of similar ages and abilities are learning together with option of 'Kid's Club' in the afternoons if children are not able to ski all day.
