The accommodation…

We would like to welcome you to our new adventure, a traditional Provencal village house in the heart of the Luberon region of Provence. The village of Cabrières D'Aigues lies on the famous vaudois route and GR 92 trekking route, which takes you up to incredible views overlooking lavender, vineyards and the famous Ventoux mountain range. The beautiful Etang de la Bonde is only 2km away, a stunning lake which has a natural beach and swimming areas.  The town is 40 minutes from the beautifully Provencal town of Aix-en-Provence and just 50 minutes from Marseille airport.  Luberon is renowned for it's cycling, walking and horse-riding.  There are hundred of miles of tracks and very quiet back-roads to really get to see the idyllic Provence countryside.
Maison Lou Roucas is situated in the middle of the village so you can walk to the little shop and collect your fresh bread or sip a coffee in the morning at the brasserie. The Brasserie is open at lunchtime and in the evening and there are many other restaurants in other nearby towns and villages of Cucuron, Ansouis, Lourmarin and Vaugines.
The house sleeps 12 people in total and is sold by the room on a B & B basis or exclusively on a self-catering basis. The rooms are large so we can add other beds if necessary. Maison Lou Roucas consists of:

A glorious 18th century chateau. The chateau is privately owned and has recently been restored by Annemarie and Daniel Bagnis and their daughters. They have turned the vineyards into Organic vines and mature their wine with 2 different processes, new and old oak barrels and very unusually in terra cotta barrels. It was originally owned by Englishman William Chase. Today 60% of the estate is Syrah and Grenache for red wine and unusual for Luberon, Cabernet Sauvignon.
