Dreaming of a white Christmas?
Morzine Avoriaz has lots to offer during Christmas and New Year, here’s just a few reasons to come skiing with us over the festive period! (Not that you need an excuse!)
Morzine is a traditional, family centred town and truly comes alive at Christmas time - with illuminations, fireworks and street parades. There are lots festive workshops for both kids and adults, giving you the chance to make Christmas garlands, cards, mobiles and more.
Waking up to fresh snow on Christmas morning makes the holidays all the more magical … and with increased snowmaking across the region this season, it’s guaranteed to be a white Christmas in Morzine!
Do you ever see footprints in the snow and wonder which animal made them? The Dahu is a legendary creature and based in the French alps but rarely seen! Follow their footprints on a special guided tour and see if you can track down this mysterious animal!
Christmas day is one of the quietest days on the mountain all season. With the high-speed cable car right next to Chilly Powder, you can sneak in plenty of fresh tracks before lunch and even head back out again for a few post Turkey runs - and still make it back in time for the King’s speech!
It’s a little-known fact that after his busiest night of the year, Father Christmas pays a very special visit to Chilly Powder each winter, stopping off to see us before flying back to The North Pole. If you’re very lucky and have been good all year, he might just have a present for you…
New Year’s Eve
There’s nothing quite like the mountains for a stunning back drop to a fireworks display lighting up the winter sky … and in true Chilly Powder style you’ll be admiring the display whilst dressed as Mickey Mouse/Captain Jack Sparrow/Alice in Wonderland (or whatever outfit takes your fancy) with a glass in hand to welcome in the New Year. Fancy dress isn’t compulsory but highly encouraged as we welcome in the new year with old friends and new!
