Créche and kids club

Chilly Powder was created with family holidays at its heart. Our accommodation is thoughtfully designed for families of all shapes and sizes, and our childcare facilities are truly unique in Morzine. Our team of fully qualified nannies can care for little ones from just 3 months old, giving parents the freedom to enjoy the mountains with peace of mind.

In summer, our crèche and kids club keep young adventurers happy, active, and entertained while you make the most of your alpine escape.

Crèche for Babies & Toddlers

Our on-site crèche at Au Coin du Feu is run by qualified, experienced English nannies and welcomes babies and toddlers (who are not yet ready for ski school). Open Sunday to Friday, 8:45am – 4:45pm, with flexible hours available on request, it's open to all our guests, no matter which chalet you're staying in.

The crèche includes a kitchenette, bathroom, sleep room, and two separate play areas for babies and toddlers. It’s fully equipped with bottle-warming and sterilising facilities, a fridge, and a washing machine.

Each child is assigned a dedicated key worker for the week, helping them settle in and enjoy their time with us.

Kids club

In summer, the day is filled with an action-packed programme of games, nature-based crafts, outdoor adventures and mountain exploration – all designed to keep kids happy and active while you make the most of the mountains.

The Kids Club is fully equipped with pool, table tennis, table football, a Wii, PlayStation 2, and loads of games.

In winter, the fun continues with our convenient drop-off and pick-up service for children enrolled in Chilly Powder Ski School. After morning lessons, they return to our Kids Club at Au Coin du Feu, where they’re served lunch and enjoy supervised play in a dedicated space separate from the crèche.

Catered children

We believe children’s mealtimes are just as important as those for adults. Dinner is served at 5:30 pm for all children under 16, and when teenagers are staying, we introduce a special teatime at 6:30 pm to better suit their routines and appetites.

Our children's meals are freshly prepared, wholesome, and designed to appeal to younger tastes, with a focus on balanced nutrition. Each evening includes a variety of options such as fresh vegetables, plain pasta, ham, and cheese alongside the main dish, followed by a pudding and yoghurts. For babies, we also prepare homemade vegetable purées to ensure they’re well-fed and happy throughout their stay.

Winter ski school

Our ski school offers small, friendly groups of children with similar ability levels, helping them build confidence and progress quickly. Lessons are led by carefully chosen, English-speaking French instructors who create a supportive and fun learning environment.

A dedicated ski school assistant is on hand each day to help the children, take photos and videos, and offer extra encouragement when needed. At the end of the week, everyone gathers to watch the ski school video together – a fun memory, with a free copy sent home to each family.

How do I book childcare?

Once you have booked your holiday with us you need to fill in our summer childcare form as soon as possible to secure your child's place.

Can I buy baby food in Morzine?

You can buy powdered milk, Nestlé brands and Aptimel, but not SMA. You can also buy follow on milk from age 10 months already made up. You can buy all the jars of baby foods, but cannot get organic in Morzine. The nearest supermarket is in Avoriaz by cable car or 10 mins away by free bus in Morzine.

When do children get fed in the evenings?

We have children's supper at 6.00pm - there's plenty of vegetables and homemade food to help yourselves to (and pureed food is available too). We have a microwave and kettle and cooking hobs for parents and guardians who wish to prepare their own foods.

Do you feed the children on your night off?

We can do if you want us to, although this is just something simple so we advise giving little ones a big lunch. We can also organise babysitters for when the parents go out for a meal in one of the local restaurants.

What equipment do you have for toddlers and children?

We have lots of toys, videos and books. A kitchenette for the parents and milk in the fridge for evening bottles. A potty and a toddlers loo. Bikes, cars, toys etc for outside play. Cots with bed linen. Stair gates for the bedrooms with mezzanines. Plastic bibs, cups and cutlery. Buggies and pushchairs. We have a baby listening service through the phone system. Babysitting available in the evenings.

What do I need to drop off with the kids?

Warm outside clothes, sun cream and sunglasses. Slippers for the creche. Bottles and formula. Nappies, wipes, nappy sacks and cream. We do not supply any medicines (including Calpol) in the creche, but the nannies can administer them to your child with your permission. A mobile phone number so we can contact you if there are any worries or problems.

What activites do the children do in the creche?

The crèche is run similar to play school, the nannies do all sorts of creative activities like bubble painting, playdoh and crafts. They have a snack and a drink in the morning and frequently take trips into Morzine. Lunch is approx 12h00 and then they go playing in the woods, sing songs, dancing and games in the afternoon. The nannies will stick to your routine at home and put the babies to sleep in your own room if you wish. The creche is open form 09h00 to 17h00.

Who can I talk to about my child when I arrive?

Our Childcare Manager is available during kids tea time to talk to you about the crèche and to register all the children. You can talk through any concerns you might have with her and you will be allocated a key nanny for the week.
